Connemara & Amethyst Luckenbooth Pendant Necklace

Often incorrectly called a Scottish Claddagh, the Luckenbooth charm is a replica of a brooch sold at St. Giles Market in Edinburgh from the eighteenth century through the Victorian era. Thistle, heart and crown to represent Mary, Queen of Scots combine in the unusual design. Luckenbooth means "locked booth", and the brooches were valuable and kept in locked stalls. They were given as signs of betrothal, pinned to the shawl of the firstborn, and were thought to protect against bewitching. Charm is 1" long; with amethyst and Connemara charm holder it makes a pretty 2" pendant. On an 18" sterling chain with spring clasp.

Connemara High Cross Necklace

The High Crosses of Ireland were carved of stone during the ninth and tenth centuries AD and are found at monasteries throughout Ireland, particularly in Ireland's midlands and east. The ring embracing the arms of the Celtic cross is a symbol of eternity encompassing the four directions. This 1" sterling pendant is flanked by two Connemara marble beads accented with filigree sterling spacers and Swarovski crystals in Olivine.
